Franco Morbidelli Moto2 World Champion 2017, Rossi presents to excited

Moto2 Sepang 2017, Franco Morbidelli won the title of Moto2 World Champion 2017 after ending the Malaysian GP in third position on Sunday 29 October 2017 at the Sepang circuit.

World champion title obtained by his proteges at VR46 Riders Academy aka VR46 Racing Academy is certainly greeted happily by Valentino Rossi who took time to approach Morbidelli to give congratulations shortly before himself will follow the MotoGP final race at the Sepang circuit.


Morbidelli, who next season will be one of Rossi's challengers in the MotoGP class, ensures himself to become Moto2 World Champion this season after his tight contender in the standings, Thomas Luthi, declared 'unfit' and missed the final race at Sepang after suffering a leg injury when following the qualifying round.

"Now it is real, I am very sorry for Tom (Thomas Luthi), but I am very happy for us. A great season for us. I am very excited, incredible, "said Morbidelli in a short interview shortly after it was confirmed to be Moto2 World Champion 2017.

Meanwhile, two Moto2 riders from the Red Bull team KTM Ajo Miguel Oliveira and Brat Binder successively ended the final Moto2 Malaysia race this year as the first and second champion. In the standings, Oliveira is the third position winner
